,,, If you like it, then it is a good deal. I use an old coffee can.

I'm sensing a divide here, you got some guys that paid for their nice ashtrays, and then you have guys that found something that resembled a container and use that or failing that use the ground or themselves as ashtrays.

Yeah, I'm usually my own ashtray. Or the carpet in the living room. I'll be standing there talking to my mom, and the next thing I know my ash has dropped.

I do have a small ashtray though, it's a souvenir a friend brought me from his most recent trip to Mississippi. Just a run of the mill, blue glass ashtray, with a picture of the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino painted in gold on the inside.

Which category do I fit in? I didn't pay for mine, but it's a nice ashtray...just came free with a box purchase of cigars I happen to like...win win situation right there. :)

I got a plain clear glass ashtray from wally-world for 5 bucks. Not the small cigarette ashtray...it's about 6 inches across and pretty thick with room for three sticks. I really like it, I just leave it outside and dump the fallen soldiers into an empty plant pot. Looks classy, and for 5 bucks, you can't beat it.

my crotch....all the ash seams to end up there somehow.
I seem to have the same problem. I usualy am talking and don't pay attention to my ash so it ends up falling on me, usualy on the crotch.

You kinda fall in between the two, you have a nice ashtray, but you sorta stumbled upon it. I dunno, all I know is that I'm a bit jealous. And that Lassy likes burros in ways that probably are illegal.

I seem to fall into a new category. Friday night I was smoking a Camacho PE and I ashed on my finger. I always have to be different.

Oh, and the country I get my Burros from, it's not illegal...

And since the "Burros" are considered diplomats they get immunity which then blankets over me....
Hell, we can do what we do in the STREET!

Except one time I got a Canadian Burro... I had to pay hella taxes and did get in some trouble

It's always good to get immunity with our burros...you never know what kinds of diseases they might carry.

This thread, combined with the fact that I just ashed my cigar, got me to thinking. When you guys smoke, do you flick the ash yourself, or do you just let it fall? Does the spot you're smoking in determine how you ash? I try to knock the ash off myself if I'm inside, because I don't like to clean up the mess. It usually falls before I get around to it though, lol.

I try to roll my ash off, not to be fancy, but the last time I flicked the ash onto my shirt and burnt a hole into it.

If I'm paying attention I'll break the ash off at about and inch and a half. If I'm not paying attention it will fall into my lap hahah

I smoked an Ashton VSG once that I had abused a bit. When the first ash got to about one inch I flicked it...since I had abused the cigar (crushed the foot in my cooler) I guess the cigar had some unfinished business with me, because the ash fell squarely on the web between my thumb and forefinger and burned the sh!t out of it. So let that be a lesson, treat your cigars nicely or they'll pay you back.

I've been wanting to add a new category to cigar reviewing titled "ash-to-crotch-landing." In the mystery cigar thread, my cigar C got an 8.7 in that category when the ash landed just on the inside of my leg. It probably deserved a bit more since the ash was over two inches long and probably exploded some of it north a bit, but I was only thinking of standing up to avoid burning my jeans.

I like to free ball it. I only smoke outside so I do not use an ashtray unless I am at my BandM. I do not smoke in the house because of my little kids. Plus free balling it is fun ;)
I too freeball...the earth is my ashtray.

For those that tend to burn their crotch allot, maybe free-ballin' isn't the best idea.

Unless you're into that sort of thing, then I guess you're getting more out of your cigars than some of us are.

I always smoke outside on the porch so I walk out to the grass and ash it when I think it's about to go. Sometimes I don't make it....so I may pick up a nice ashtray to keep on the porch. I have been eying up and Oliva one for a while now....may go and pick up it soon.
  • HugemooseHugemoose Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 458
Well i didn't pick up the Oliva tray, instead I picked up a Padron one. Not the best, but it will do the job and will look nice. This is just a picture from google because I can't find the cable for my camera.

I have the same Padron ashtray. Its works fine enough. I like the foam feet it has, but its certainly nothing special

My ashtray was full, and I was too lazy to empty it. So what did I do? Used an empty Pringles can, haha.

I only smoke outside, so I just ash onto the ground and let the wind take care of it.

My indoor ashtray is cool black and red and made in scandinavia... but I think it's made for swishers or for cigarettes, I have to empty it halfway through, I need a good ashtray!

Just pull the tab up on a Miller Lite can ...the tab can hold the cigar on windy days and a Miller Lite can will hold a lot of ashes ...I'm just sayin ...
