Well, I just put up my 950th post, so it's all locked, and loaded into the spreadsheet. A wide range of guesses, and I am sad to report that only 2 people are eligible for ultra-special bonuses. I think I will have to compensate by expanding the offering for the main prize.

As promised, here are the correct answers to the 3 bonus questions:

    1. My weight at the beginning of this latest weight-loss regimen was 158.2 pounds. Jozer, with his guess of 156, is eligible for the bonus here.
    2. My recorded weight at the beginning of my first diet on 9/2/2004 was 183.0 pounds. Maddy, with a guess of 188, was just barely within the 5 pound tolerance, and is therefore eligible for the bonus. 3. My minimum recorded weight, on 9/20/2007, was 143.2 pounds, a difference of 39.8 pounds. Nobody was even close to the 2 pound tolerance, let alone a 5 pound tolerance on that one.

Today's registered weight was 151.0 pounds, so I've already lost 7.2 pounds. However, I will point out that I always lose 3-5 pounds in the first week before everything levels out. Almost everybody is solidly in the running for a win at this point. Good luck!

Looks like I'm getting these in just in time.

    Lost 12.2 lbs
    1. 275
    2. 335
    3. 80
This is the equivalent of more than two Dutys...no thanks, one is enough.

If you hadn't milked the crap out of this timeframe, I had a solid win AND a bonus. lol

Damn 151 lbs! How tall are you 5'0"? You need to be eating not trying to lose weight. What are you dieting for?

He's actually a leprechaun, with a hell of a cross check...

As for why he's dieting, I could be wrong, but I get the sneaking suspicion Duty is something of a control freak???

Not so fast, Maddy... I had a seriously weak weekend, filled with much beer, cookies, and snacks! I have resisted giving the updates on this (on account of it affecting my post count), but so far you are in the lead. I haven't weighed in since Friday, since I was out of town. It looks like tomorrow or Tuesday will be my official weigh-in, and I haven't checked the damage from the soccer tailgate (it was pretty significant), but I'm guessing I could be anywhere between 7 and 12 pounds down as of the official weigh-in. Recent weigh-ins have had me between 7 and 10 pounds down.

Duty I was just teasing bro, I would be happy to win your contest but I'm not that serious.
  • dutyjedutyje Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 2,263
Well, Maddy, it looks like the recent slow-down did indeed impact your chances. You lost the lead on 10/3, when I weighed in at 150.4, but got it back the next day when I hit 151.2... then the next day it was back down to 150.4 again, and you never saw the lead since. Although, if you had been here to help spur the conversations along, I may have hit 1K a little sooner. You have nobody to blame but yourself, really ;)

Enough about all that stuff.. I just hit my 1,000th post in the A Pass thread, so I went upstairs to conduct a measurement. The final weight (well, not final, I'm still dieting) was 149.0 pounds, giving me an overall weight loss of 9.2 pounds since 9/16.

Sane guessed 8.6, and rdnstn guessed 9.8, making them both off by 0.6 pounds. However, Sane wins the tie-breaker for getting his guess in a couple days earlier. So congratulations, Sane! Your prize is already on the way to my house, so I'll probably get it out to you by Monday or Tuesday of next week. Just PM your address before then! Thanks for playing, everybody!

Duty I weigh 100lbs more than you! You wanna fight about this? LMAO

Congrats Sane, make sure to post up the contents when you receive them. I'm envious as I can only imagine what a duty package may contain :).

C'mon Maddy. Duty told us all a little while back what he does with his sticks. In particular the sticks he uses for trades and passes.

He puts a little Duty in every package ;)

LMAO, more like rubs a little duty on 'em. HAHAHA enjoy sane!

Congrats Sane...if only Duty had laid off the beer and potato chips, I coulda been a contender. I blame this on soccer and hockey.

Couldn't have been hockey because I was suspended for 3 weeks. I've only been in 2 games so far this season (33 PIMs). Although, before my last hockey game, I had the following for dinner:

2 Schlitz (of course.. I sound like a lower-classed Lassy)
    Deep-Fried Snickers
    Deep-Fried Oreos
    Deep-Fried S'Mores
    Onion Rings
    Mini Corn Dogs
    Jalapeno Poppers
Deep-Fried Pickles (no calories in pickles!)

Between that meal and the soccer weekend, I was probably set back about 3-4 days.
  • rdnstnrdnstn Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 991
That doesn't sound like a meal. That sounds like an instant heart attack wrapped up in batter.

It does sound good though. At least the deep fried desserts.

My point exactly. If you had not been suspended and played in more games, you'd likely have lost more weight...assuming you don't celebrate the end of a game with a cherry pie and box of Oreos that is.

If you watched us play hockey, and then watched us drink beer afterward, you'd realize that I probably gain weight playing :)

Then back to my original idea...it's all soccer's fault.

No no you missed it, duty rubs "little duty" on them not "a little doody". It'd probably add a little meaty flavor to them ... lol

So I checked the mail today and there was a pleasant end to my work week waiting for me.

    What I got:

    1 CAO Brazilia
    1 5 Vegas 'A'
    1 La Herencia Cubana
    1 Camacho 1962
    1 Macanudo 1968
3 Unmarked cigars (I have no idea what they are)

And a nice Savoy spanish cider lined leather cigar case.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Joe.

I wanted to wait until you had this in hand before I explained the contents of the package. I also wanted to ship the 8 cigars in the 8-finger Savoy case, but it's not seasoned yet, and I didn't want to ruin the sticks. The travel case is all leather and lined with Spanish Cedar, but it shipped with silica gel, so I gotta believe it's outrageously dry.

Anyway, on to the sticks. The 1962 is right at the top of my list of favorite cigars, and the La Herencia Cubana is a good example of my favorite wrapper (EcSu), but the highlight of this prize is those three un-marked cigars. Those are all three of the blends offered by my local B&M (Outland Cigars). You've got an Outland Criollo Toro (which may be the best of the bunch -- it's a lot like a Camacho 1962), and Outland Ecuadorian Sumatra Robusto (which is a lot like the Altadis Playboy), and an Outland Connecticut Torpedo (which is like a 5 Vegas Gold, only with even more flavor). All three of these cigars are mild-medium in body, but carry so much flavor you will be blown away (at least I hope you will). I haven't yet tried the Brazilia, 1968, or Vegas 'A', but I wanted some stuff that was fuller in body to balance the selection, and I had to get to 8 cigars :)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the whole lot of them, and that you find the travel case useful.

That's a cool selection Doody, I like the thought you put into it. One of these days I'll have to work out some kind of deal with you to get some of those Outland house blends, you make them sound oh-so good.
  • dutyjedutyje Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 2,263
I want to share those house blends, because I think they're all so amazing I want everybody to give them a try. One of these days we'll work out a swap, and I'll send along a house blend sampler. If you're all about a full-bodied cigar, these won't pack the punch you desire, but if you like a good mild-medium, these have so much flavor you'll be speechless.

    Dutyje,

Thanks for putting so much thought into your selection, the case was great I was about to buy one.

Out off all I have only had the Brazilia, and it kicked my ass, I liked it but wow. I wanted to get another one so I could try it once I'd had a few more "under my belt", I'm still a noob. The vegas I had on my next order list so it looks like I'll have to find a new one to take its place.

Thanks for the great package and I hope I can repay the kindness someday.
