My name is Lucas and I work at a record store. My boss trusted me with closing down the store one night and when I came across plans to change my beloved record store into part of a chain, I took the money to Atlantic City. I tried to double the money in order to save the store, but things didn't really work out. Now it's going to be one really long day. Which movie did I just describe?

I love that movie but haven't seen it in quite a while. Empire Records.

Nope. In this movie, one of the main characters' power is laying magic eggs with an unknown suprise inside each one. However, it never shows this power being used or the eggs.

Whatever.. Why don't you just get back to work, period? Good work buddy. Why have I never heard of this movie?

    Ok,
I will not make this one easy. Or at least I dont think its easy.
I will give out hints as needed.
    Here is the setup:
All about me! Before getting married and having kids I used to watch a lot of movies.
Then DVD came out and I watched a lot of movies and alot of the extras on the DVD's.
If I thought a movie was good I would typically watch all the extra stuff on the DVD (commentary, directors cut, cut scenes etc). Then watch the movie again with that knowlege.

So here is the question based on watching this movie with the directors commentary:

In this movie the lead actor needed to use menthol crystals in his eyes to appear to make himself cry in the scenes in which he cried. What is the movie & actor?

    Richard Gere in Sommersby.

    ryan reynolds - amittyville horror

Ok Hint 1: The actor and the director are the same person, this was a mainstream film.
