Suicide. 'nuff said. A young man I know has lost an uncle who was like a brother to him and now his best friend, almost a year to the day later, in what may also be a suicide. I hurt for the hurting on all sides of this issue and sometimes hate our broken world.
att support's automated phone system .... i just want to speak with a real live person?!?!?!!!! Why is it always so difficult?!?!?!
I find the automated easier to deal with. When I finally talk to a person I can barely understand them or they cannot fix anything.
....meh. Idk I still can't understand the person half the damn time.
IMO, the automated just makes it worse because then I have to fumble through menu commands for 5 minutes before I'm connected to someone in India....
I had a phone call from a job recruiting agency a few days ago about a job back in Arkansas (they pronounced it "are kansas".) The number was from Colorado, but the caller was clearly from India. The whole message was gibberish and I couldn't understand a damn word of it other than "are kansas," Cadastral Specialist, and the phone number he provided.
I don't think I'll be calling him back for more uninterpretable information. If I were to apply for the job, it's probably a bad start to be a d!ck to the recruiting guy. Thankfully, I had seen the job posting elsewhere and already knew the details. If you're trying to communicate with people to fill a position, get someone who can clearly communicate.

Yikes! Birthdays can be celebrated whenever, though. You have a whole year. Wait 'til you get better then celebrate!!
1. My hours being cut in half. I teach GED classes and just held an intake/registration for 15 students. Two showed up on time, but couldn't take the class when I was offering it (which was part of the pre-screen) and two showed up over halfway into the assessment testing period and had to be rescheduled. 4/15 is not a passing grade! Nor is it enough for the class to "make". Now I have to scramble to make those hours up in test prep, tutoring, and oddly scheduled classes for students that don't need a full curriculum. This blows my whole schedule, and I'll probably have to work some nights.
2. Getting a late 1099 I wasn't expecting. My wife had a tiny retirement account that we didn't bother rolling over and promptly forgot about. What comes in the mail yesterday? Well, at least we shouldn't owe since they withheld FIT.
3. Going in to balance the check ledger we keep on our computer and finding a bill for $300 recorded as income. One other similar mistake for a smaller amount. There goes a $600 swing in my income (and bye bye cigar budget).
At least I have oatmeal for breakfast. Don't eat it often, but it sure is comforting.
Our tax bill is enough for me to buy a brand new car! It wasn't MY income that did it..ughhh
1. I wish my wife made that kind of money 2. Sit her down with an accountant or a tax consultant and get her to understand why she can't claim married 2 or whatever. I didn't do that with my first wife. Caused alot of problems! Least of all was that she thought she could spend more than we really had! (just my 2 cents)

Yep we are right after filing. She needed the money to get out of her old house initially and she works on commission so, a good year for her meant a better year for Uncle Sam.
Don't worry Shizz. I got an $8,000 tax return that had to go towards a child custody case because my wife's ex knows I'm leaving Fort Hood this year....ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of my tax return has gone into a moving savings account so we can get out of this apartment. I just hope it is moving someplace for a new job, not just to get out of here!
The rest is going mostly to buying the kids and the wife new clothes and new shoes and paying for sports/camp and some car maintenance. I blew $40 or $50 bucks on cigars and accessories! That's about my budget even from the taxes, especially because I need some new soccer boots to keep up with the young guys I play with.
The stray cat(s) that keeps showing up in our yard/front sidewalk late at night and our dog flips $hit when she sees it ... which scares the he11 out of my wife and I.
Been trying to scare it off the last few weeks --- let dog chase it, throw snowballs at it, etc. but it keeps coming back.
(And no wonder because we're pretty sure that 2 or 3 different houses in our neighborhood keep feeding them.....)
Need to get a live trap and either have animal control come get it or let it loose out in the country

Also, you might get a kick out of this cartoon LOL (beware: swearing/NSFW language.)
