I agree on the mancave ideas. Thing is, I don't think it is that hard to justify the expense IF you plan on living in your home for a god long time. I figure you could build a nice one for $10-15k. Not chump change, but if you are going to be living in the house for 30 years it isn't an exorbitant outlay when you factor the enjoyment you will get out of it.
I'd buy a 50' schooner, sail around the tropics with my family and smoke a cigar in the cockpit looking at the sunset through my glass of tequila every night before chasing the wife around the forecastle.
a fully kick a-s-s walk in humi for sure, but what I would really want is to get flower tucci, gianna micheals, trina micheals and my wife in a hot weekend!
A bomb shelter with enough food and supplies to last five years, with a fully stocked armory and a walk in humidor. Yes, I will be protecting my cigars from nuclear fallout.
I would simply buy a house for my family. Nothing too big and fancy, just a nice 3 bedroom house in a nice safe area with a nice back yard for my son and our dog to run around and play in. I'm just getting tired of apartment life and am ready to get something better for my family... Maybe someday.

My father-in-law's theatre cost more than this alone. He installed a 10 foot screen with an HD projector, it's very nice. I'm afraid the mancave I want could cost upwards of 80k-100k. Which of course, is needlessly expensive. Which, of course, is why I can't justify the expense. Especially not in this economy.

Ya know, I've actually designed and priced out a full theater system, and I put it out at $5k. It wasn't top-of-the-line stuff, but it was a happy medium. Mine was a living-room setup though, not a dedicated-room...definitely would be more for all the dedicated-room accoutrements.

When I was in the Navy I had some buddies who set up one stellar living room home theatre with stadium seating, massive projector screen, curtain around screen, surround sound, lighted walkways, all kinds of movie posters on walls. Really felt like a movie theater, except you were chilling on some really comfortable couches. All this for under $2500.
After one more deployment I should be able to justify buying a new Camaro. I am pretty excited to get one and I will be in need of a new car by then. Hopefully I can save the money, but if Ccom keeps up with these deals I might have a problem haha
