Maybe you just had bad whiskey in yours? I am usually a mojito/cran and vodka kind of girl. I lean towards sweet stuff. But actually my new favorite is Lagavulin 16.

I stopped drinking most mixed drinks. I've had Lagavulin a few times and it's a great scotch; definitely a great combination with an Oliva V.
