Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget

So I just set up an account this week, although I've been a lurker over the past couple. Something I've noticed is that there have been a lot of pictures/talk about Opus X in the "what are you smoking/what did you get in the mail/post a picture" threads....how do you guys do it!? I'm sure it's a great smoke (and nothing beats a great smoke on a perfect night), but how can you guys afford such a luxury on a regular basis? I think the most I've ever spent on a cigar is probably around $10-12, and even that was a stretch. Call me frugal (broke college kid here, sorry), but I guess it's just hard to wrap my mind around it haha

Thanks for the feedback, friends! I'm definitely going to look into those options. And I took your advice and updated my profile somewhat (I think)...haha enjoy the beautiful weather today. Perfect day for a Friday--75 and sunny over here!

I agree with all that is said! Being one broke shmoe it is hard to justify buying a lot of things...but opus gets released to certain places 2x a year for usually around msrp which is $12-$20 a stick depending on the size. Personally I know which months they normally come in and I start saving for a few. Eventually over the years you will have collected a good amount of them!

The "mystique" of this hobby is that most people think it's expensive and that's not accurate. Those who have been doing this for some time know that there are very good cigars in the $2 - $4 range that are perfectly respectable and are enjoyable as well. Research and reading is key in finding these cigar....listen and learn from others and ask a lot of questions and you'll find that most will tell you what they smoke.
