AJ Q.

Does anyone know the actual number of cigars he has made? I tried Googling it and nothing. I mean the MOW line itself is probably like what .... 8-9 diff cigars?

While on the topic, I wonder how many RP and Gurkha has made as well.

There's a decent list on AJ Cigar wiki page, good place to start.
AJF cigar wiki list CLICK HERE
Not sure how "up to date" it is though.

And, because I admire your sock porn/stogie stand threads ;-) ...here's some more info
RP Cigar wiki list CLICK HERE
Gurkha Cigar wiki list CLICK HERE
Again, not sure how up to date these are but good "jumping off" point IMO.

You are welcome.... happy to help. And yes that is a whole bunch of brands...haven't counted them all yet but I want to.

I'm not gonna count every single one, but it looks like RP has them both beat with AJ in 2nd.

Yeah that's what I thought at first glance too....I was surprised there weren't more listed for Gurkha though.

AJ is an amazing guy. Truly the best in the trade in my opinion and that is saying a lot since he is only 30 years old. Below is the complete list:

    Man O War
    Man O War Ruination
    La Herencia Cubana
    La Herencia Cubana Oscuro Fuerte
    Sol Cubano Cuban Cabinet
    Graycliff Turbo
    5 Vegas Triple A
    Garo Unum
Estaban Carerras Habano Corojo and Maduro
    ITC 10 Year
    Rocky Patel Fusion
    Rocky Patel Double Maduro
    Rocky Patel Signature
    Deisel
    Reposado 96
    Graycliff G2
    A. Fernandez Signature Series
    Sol Cubano Artisan
    Cigar.com Brazilian Label
    Gurkha Park Ave
    Gurkha Sherpa
    Gurkha Microbatch S-2
    Gurkha Microbatch C-10
    Gurkha Microbatch TPB-1
    Padilla Achilles
    La Cuna Bin 85
    Rocky Patel Triple Fusion
    Red Lion
    Nica Libre
    Tantra Flavors

Some of these have been discontinued or are being discontinued for various reasons. There are also a few in the works such as Man O War Virtue which will be a super high end connecticut and also a brand called San Lotano which is the brand Abdels grandfather used to make in Cuba which he has been working on resurrecting for the past 3 years. He finally nailed the blend a month or two ago and will be bringing it to market. Unlike most of his blends which are made for distributors, San Lotano will be sold nationwide to fine tobacconists and his own brand and line. I smoked both the maduro and the habano version. Maduro was just okay but the habano was killer.
Here's another list from Alex back in early 2010

    Hmm....interesting.
I couldn't find mentions of this anywhere else with a couple Google searches.

Maybe a typo/wrong info (it is wikipedia afterall) but I thought La Palina did everything "in house"....would love to see an official answer from someone "in the business".

Apparently you can add the Outlaw Gunslinger Drifter as one of his collaborative blends.

I am very surprised that Gurkha has less than AJ! Maybe since gurkha has the same band on each cigar (almost) it's just more confusing and overwhelming, lol!

That's OK for research that doesn't matter. Never use Wiki for anything that you need good information for. Anyone can put something on Wiki and they do not check the source. A lot of what appears on that site is fabrication mixed with a little fact to make it look good.

I don't allow my students to use Wikipedia as a source.

There was a study done to look at this, comparing Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Brittanica. They had a statistically similar number of errors. Does that mean Wiki is OK? No, it means always check primary sources regardless of how reputable the secondary source is. But, it does mean Wiki is fine as a secondary source.

I thought everything on the internet was real? Speaking of which totally off topic and no offense intended we have never found downtown Tarboro on our way back from Beaufort County. Always end up in Rocky Mount.

Take Exit 285 off 64, brings you right there, don't blink! Actually, we love it here. Small place, quiet, green and within a short time, you can be in several cool cities, the outer banks or the mountains. Not the place to come if you're looking for excitement!

Gurkha has less blends than just about everybody.
    Gurkha does not blend cigars.
in fact AJ has blended for Gurkha.

gurkha is a strange kind of "middle man" when it comes to tobacco.
Gurkha finds tobacco that is in limited quantity, rare, an overstock, etc.
they then take this tobacco and hire another company to blend and manufacture the cigars and try to get it done as inexpensively as they can. Gurkha then distributes the cigars under their own name.
so it is not a very cost effective way of making cigars. it is not a consistent way of making cigars. there are few long term blends because of this. the tobacco just doesnt exist. they are a huge small batch company.

the company has over 90 blends that they have/do sell. that wiki list is not up to date. i think my 90 number may be low as well.

none of these blends include any of their infused stuff or the cigars that are made by the Gurkha comany but have a different name like the Castle Hall line or the K. Hansotia lines witch are around 20 more blends. i also made the entire empire series one blend even though they are really 6. so... 97...

RP does, and has his own factory. Gurkha blends several consistent cigars as well in their line, but they do not own a factory. RP and AJ are basically the same in that regard. Only difference being RP had the shelf space, lost some of it when he went online, then started to get it back. AJ never had shelf space. Gurkha has all sorts of folks producing for them.

AJ did blend for RP a few times. but RP is much more contained and independent as a company. they have fewer issues overall. my problem with RP is that im just not a fan of the blending style many of his cigars have.
