General schedule is for 24 hours I am a Fire Lieutenant then for 48 hours I change diapers and do what I can to keep the three little ones from killing eachother. (got a two and a half year old girl and 16 month old twin boys and an 18 year old girl) then my schedule repeats itself.

If I can get the kids to all nap at the same time I'll go out side and have a cigar (most of the time if it's my first day off duty I need a nap my self) if not I hope they all go to bed at night at a decent time so I can have one then. I used to be an avid wood worker but haven't seen much saw dust since the two and half year old was born and none since the twins. One day they will all be in school and I'll get some quality me time.

My advice to workers hard like you friend is to not be scared to look dumb. Thats the point in this, ask questions, jump into threads, give your opinion and talk about your work.

After being a Plant Manager with Willamette Industries ( later taken over by Weyerhaeuser) for 25 years I retired in 1996 and my day job is now Retirement which is a million times better than my former job. At the ripe age of 42 I thought retirment would be something that was going to be dull....it isn't. I gives me time to travel the world with my wife and see things I never thought I'd ever see or experience.
