I keep coming back to R & Js...

As a rookie cigar smoker ('bout 5-6 months now maybe?) I'm still figuring out my palate and enjoying ordering and sampling new brands, finding B&Ms in my travels and meeting new people who enjoy a good stick. One brand I keep coming back to and seem to always enjoy the flavor, aroma and consistency of are Romeo y Julieta smokes. I've only had a few Reserva Reals (and one other I can't remember exactly, gotta start taking notes!) but as I type this I'm having my first R&J Res. Maduro and I'm really enjoying it! I've taken to enjoying more medium to full bodied stuff it seems but this Maduro is a nice mild to medium evening smoke I can get used to. Love the aroma, a little toast and maybe espresso to it (I think). Still having a hard time figuring out specific tastes other than spice, pepper and cedar/woody type flavors. Nice thick smoke too! Bottom line, I really like this one and compare it to a Macanudo Maduro I recently had for the first time. Curious to see what others think of this one and what you might recommend that's similar but maybe a little stronger? ~Dre'

Glad you found some cigars you enjoy. I'd recommend trying some La Aurora, specifically the preferido maduro and Cameroon. They will be very in line with the RyJ's you like. Also check out some Fuente, specifically something in the Hemingway Line or Sungrown/maduro line. Enjoy the journey.

I hear ya. RyJ 1875 Bully has a place in my humidor at all times. The consistency of burn, tight ash and medium body keeps me coming back for more. Really enjoy it with coffee.

Thanks for the recommendations, I've actually had a couple of Fuente smokes and have enjoyed them thoroughly. Actually went to the Arturo Fuente cigar lounge in Caesar's Palace this summer, very cool spot. Sexy young thing escorted me into the humidor, helped me make my selection and gave me a cut and a light before I sat down. Highly recommend a smoke and a drink there if you get a chance, not too expensive either!
