How long to wait
My wife got me a humidor gift package from cigars.com and left the sticks in the humidor for several weeks without the humidor being seasoned and without any humidification.
Any suggestions on how to tell if they are too dried out to smoke and if so how long should i wait to smoke them after they have been put in a seasoned humidor?
I know you should let them age a while regardless, but since i am new to this i am trying to get a feel for things like this.

The bright side: you have a good chance your smokes will survive this and now you have an excuse to buy more (to smoke while you wait the two months)!
they were swapped to a tupperware container as soon as i saw it and put in the humipillow.
I think she got the order in early december......she said they were shipped in the humidor with the humipillow in the humidor with it.
does that make a difference?
...i really want to try one of the diesel's
thanks for the followup/alternate opinion.
REALLY new to this, and my humidor is REALLY small. No hydrometer. To be honest, no room for one.
I talked to a local shop owner and showed him the humidor, he said to do the wipe season, leave a shot of distilled water in there, and fill it up until it lasts over 24 hours with some water left. Then gave me a boveda pillow and he said that should do the trick. He said get a new boveda every couple of months and feel free to bring it by if i am worried about it and he would throw his digital in there while i smoke a stick in the lounge area.
If any of that sounds off let me know.....
EDIT: just read your thread and this sounds like the antithesis of everything you said in that thread.....lol
not sure what to do now
He showed me the tube/crystals but said mine was so small it was overkill.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
