Padilla Obsidian Belicoso Video Review Up

This 6×54 belicoso stick offered a very straighforward espresso and nut flavor profile, with a slight pepper heat on the finish that built up as it went along. The body gained momentum from mild to medium to the band point, at which I stopped. A burn issue at the 1/2 way point prompted a partial relight, and it recovered and burned normally after that. More in the video!

    same here...

I've had so many problems with these that I don't even feel good about gifting them because I'm not confident in the construction.

I gotta agree with all you guys. I had a Padilla Obsidian and it had horrible burn issues.
Also, the draw was far too tight.

I'll go against the current here. I have had about 4 Obisidians with hideous burn issues but i smoked one 2 weeks ago on the ship that had an awesome burn! I gotta say, when you get one that burns well, it's a teriffic smoke! It had a good amount of age on it, about 10 months. Maybe that had something to do with it.

That's what I say in the video too, regarding liking the flavor when it burned well. Mine had about 7 mos in my humidor on it.

The problem is the consistency. I've had a few that burned great, about as many that didn't burn great and a couple that were rolled way too tight. As much as I like the flavor, I'd be lying if I said I didn't think this was a flawed cigar. Maybe a year in the humi will work out some of the bugs (I hope).
