Let's hear about your favorite local cigar lounge. I have a place i frequent about 5 times a week and will give a detailed description later in the thread. I just thought I'd start this thread as I haven't seen this question posted yet and would like to hear what yall look for in a lounge.

Liberty Tobacco in San Diego. Great, old school tobacco shop. Huge selection of cigars AND pipes/pipe tobacco, and all at MSRP pricing which is basically 'free' out here. Large selection of harder to find stuff, and always getting in Opus X, Tatuajes, and other 'limited' cigars that can be tough to track down online.

when i went to nicaragua, the manager of my local B&M set it up.
that same guy introduced me to LFD
that same guy helped me develop my palate
that same guy and i would talk for hours about blending theory.
he ensured that my local B&M always had LFD, LG, Room 101, Camacho, Davidoff, Tatuaje, Fuente (including some rare OpusX), Oliva, Avo, Zino, Ashton, DPG, and in general my favorite cigars.

a few months ago, the owner fired him.
so i stopped going. im currently looking for a new B&M.
im miss access to LGs...

it was pretty much the only place i could go to smoke in the winter. i can get cigars here. thats for sure not a problem. this winter is gunna be a difficult one.

There are two fairly close here in washington:

Smokey Joes in Fife. Very relaxing nice comfy chairs with pretty decent food and drinks. Tobacconist is there all the time and they have a great selection with a pretty decent prices.

Thunderbird Trading Company in puyallup. Fantastic selection and great prices but not the selection with food and drink. This place is closer and not usually as busy.

The shope we have here in town is actually pretty nice. The atmosphere is exactly what you would want in a B&M, couple of flat screens, leather seating all over and dimly lit. There is not a whole lot of product for purchase sitting around like at other shops. The only thing that I dislike about this shop is their stick selection. It's horrible!! The shop is owned by six people and it seems that they keep the walk in humi stocked with all the crap they like to smoke. Catfish and I have tried to get them to bring in other product but we get looked at like we don't know what we're are talking about. Oh well! So as of now it's a great place to bring your own sticks to and relax.

Where about is this B&M in SD? High end at msrp in Cali is rare.

------ It's in the Kearny Mesa area, on Clairemont Mesa Blvd off the 805. Think that's why prices are more reasonable - it's NOT in a tourist area. They also don't serve alcohol, so that probably helps as well. ANYTHING at MSRP in California is rare, at least down here!

Although there is a VERY small lounge inside a tobacco store near my house I prefer to smoke in the carport at my apartmen. I take my folding chair, a drink, and my smoke sit back and think to myself "what more could I want in life" It may not be fancy but I have had multiple people comment on the wonderful setup I have.

I don't have a lounge near me so I go out to the balcony. Behind me is a trail that people use to take their dogs to the dog park. I get to "dog shop" as I watch some cool dogs and some interesting people go by. Not a bad set-up but next year I'll have a house with backyard, can't wait.

I've visited a fair amoutn of BnMs w/in I would say 30 miles of me. For the most part, they're very pricey. The CA tobacco tax and just the overpriced items at most BnMs really sucks... For me, when I'm cigaring by myself, nothing beats kicking back in my backyard, cigar in hand and being on ccom forums.

Would that there were a B&M within a reasonable distance of me. The closest one is about 40 miles away and, while they have a huge walk-in humidor room and a smaller (6x8?) walk-in for infused stuff, I finally gave up on it.

It's pricey, there is no lounge or alcohol served although sometimes there is a cooler with a few beers and soft drinks in it (complimentary). The regulars are all younger (who isn't younger than me?) and seem to be comprised mainly of groupies and cigar snobs. Early on, I attended a few events hosted by this B&M and they were OK but they must not have worked out well for them because they dwindled to nothing more than a cigar rep visiting the shop once in a while. All in all, just a disappointing experience. I'll happily settle for my patio or my campsite wherever I happen to have my trailer parked.

My indoor Man Cave and outdoor smoking area surrounded with tropical garden. It is not as exclusive as many commercial cigar lounges but I have everything I need. I am out almost three weeks away from home and miss it everyday- Home sweet home. Here are some pictures of my favorite cigar lounge:

The perfect ash in minnisota is cool as hell, the owners and people are great. Only downside is the minn. Tax on tobacco, which makes the cigars rather pricy on some. All and all it is like walking into "cheers" you walk in, and everyone turns around and greets you.

That would be Cubano cigars in Bakersfield, and if you ever pass through on the 99 take the time to stop and look it up. The owner is one of us, treats the biker the same as the business man, and understands the internet is his competition. Does he have the severely overpriced Opus? Yup...and all the CA tax hiked smokes. What sets him apart, is all the small batch stuff he sells right around retail, some below. So if you like Tat, you can find a Cojonu 2003 or 2006 for less then the internet. If you like Viaje, you will find it cheaper then the internet. If you want a celler reserve, it's cheaper then the internet... He focuses on finding rare and hard to find smokes that keep guys like me coming back and he always has stuff like Four Kicks stocked in boxes, and little hidden boxes of crazy stuff.

Last week, he waited over a month for me to make it into town to break open 3 boxes, one of a Pre Embargo puro from 59, rolled in 99 dated by US customs 1959. Then he busted out two more boxes from the same guy of 70/30 cuban/nic maduro's from 04. He's had these boxes for three weeks, and waited until I got there to open them to my surprise. Needless to say, we always try and one up each other, no different then here, and the discussions at the B&M are always excellent. Oh.....and I just found out there is a Chicago deep dish pizza place across the lot that has the best pizza I've ever had in my life.

My favorite local lounge is Stafford & Jones Cigar Haven. http://www.tobacconist.us/ Good selection of cigars in the retail shop in the front and Steve, the tobacconist, is a true gentleman. He is one of those people that are completely content and genuinely happy. He treats everyone with respect and his prices are fair.

The lounge is in the back. The membership fee is fairly priced, and you can rent a perfectly humidified locker as well. It's beautifully decorated with wood paneled walls and luxurious leather couches. There are 3 rooms. There is the main room with 3 big screens, the billiard room with a pool table, nice barstools and captains chairs, and the poker room with a full sized poker table and another big screen. It's byob, but he has free beer on tap. He usually has Shiner Bock and Miller Lite.

During the workweek, I spend most of my lunches there, and I have been known to make a long, working lunch as he has a wireless internet connection. The atmosphere is great, and the members are cool too. The owner of AKA cigars are members there, but I have yet to meet them. I've only been going here for a few months.

Just learned about a fairly new place nearby… Cigar Mojo ( http://cigar-mojo.com ) They have an impressive lounge, a great selection and friendly staff. If you're in King of Prussia, PA… check it out!

I'll be in Bakersfield for a meeting on the 22/23 of this month I'm gonna definitely have to stop by. Sounds like my kind of place!

glad this thread came back. in my previous post in this thread i was out of a B&M. well... the guy who I went to nicaragua with has his own shop now. i go there.
just as good as the last one (better actually) no Davidoff stuff though. that may change. it is an Avo lounge. love it. they have some good stuff and most importantly... they have a heater when it cold here in NE ohio.

Not much here in Reno, only two that are not Casino based, but of the two I really like Hatuey Cigars here, they only sell there own brand but I like them and there lounge is very comfy, and a bar that's only 20 feet next door that lets you take your drink into the cigar shop helps

I usually go there at least once a week to smoke and pick up a few of my favorites

If anyone ever finds themselves in Lake Charles, Lousiana, check out Cigar Club. Outstanding selection, knowledgeable & friendly staff, great lounge w/ a full bar; just an awesome all-around spot. They have live bands come in and play most weekends as well. Its the only lounge I ever frequented when I was in Louisiana.

Also, in Fayetteville, NC, there's Anstead's. It used to be a small shop in the mall, but my last time home I found out that they had moved. They now have a huge, two-room walk-in, a downstairs and upstairs lounge. I didn't get to hang there this last time, but it looked like one of the nicest cigar lounges I've ever seen.

Damn I'd love to visit some nice lounges but not the bourgeois types, just the friendly, nice ventilation, comfy chairs, good T.V's and hot waitresses with good food! Btw... I hope Streater's back is doing better!

Anstead's has gone from a little mall shop to a real B&M with a nice lounge. They have expanded their selection in the last few months, and it is dwindling the space available for Ghurkas/Patels. Ohhh happy days are upon us!! They now have limited bar service in the evening although I'm not sure of the selection available. It's a nice place to hang out when raining, but still prefer my back deck.

+ 1 on Anstead's. Very friendly staff and great two story lounge with several flat screen TV's. It's little bit of a hike for me, but when my son was assigned to Fort Bragg, I would meet with him and a few of his Army buddies, have a great cigar and conversation and then go to dinner.

They are expanding the liquor selection a little at a time and they have several special events, almost one a month. They also have a great pipe selection.
