Okay guys, so far we have decided on a medium bodied cigar with a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. It is now time to pick the fillers. Everyone needs to come up 3 choices. The top 3 vote getters will be the filler blends. The filler is very important as it needs to meld well with the wrapper. The filler primarily determines the cigars body, so once I see what everyone picks, I will select the right primings so it is medium bodied. There are lots of exotics in the list. I trying to balance exotics with more traditional tobaccos. It is up to you guys, but you dont want to end up with all exotic as the blend will have no core.
Wrapper (Everyone Pick 3)
Habano Jalapa Nicaragua (sweet moderate flavor with moderately dry notes)
Habano Condega Nicaragua (sweet and dry yet not huge on flavor. a good base tobacco)
Habano Ometepe Nicaragua (very sweet, almost cuban like tobacco. Very right and flavorful. Grown on a fresh water island)
Habano Esteli Nicaragua (dark and earthy tobacco with a spicy and dry flavor)
Habano Jamastran Hnduras (rich and earthy tobacco with sweet notes. Slightly damp texture
Habano Somoto Nicaragua (a rarely seen filler, Somoto is between condega and jalapa in flavor)
Habano Copan Honduras (a very earthy tobacco with a moderate flavor that is chewy)
Habano Costa Rica (dark and oily filler with a maple type flavor)
San Andres Mexico (sweet and a tad bit dry with notes of brown sugar)
Cubita Columbia (this tobacco imparts a very toasty quality to a cigar)
Habano Panama (sweet with a moderate to full flavor. Rich and complex)
Habano Domincan (A very mild to moderate leaf with cedary and leathery flavors)
Alemania Germany (a dark and toothy filler. Peppery and complex)
PA Broadleaf Maduro (spicy and sweet, oily and complex with lots of flavor)
Mata Fina Brazil (spicy and woody)
Habano Peru (similar to jalapa. Sweet and moderate)
Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro (sweet and cedary)
Sumatra Indonesia (Papery with hints of sweetness and a long finish)

Cubita columbia (love toasty)
Habano Esteli Nicaragua (love earthy, dry and spicy, too)
Habano Panama (the more complex, the better) -
Make sure you keep the wrapper in mind, folks...
Habano Copan Honduras (I loooove chewiness in my cigars)
Mata Fina Brazil (Needs a little bite, a little spiciness)
Habano Costa Rica (It was a toss-up between this and the San Andreas - either maple or brown sugar would complement the wrapper nicely, but I think the former goes better with the rest of my choices).

San Andres Mexico, because I want some, damnit. Habano Jamastran Honduras, because it sounds great. PA Broadleaf Maduro, because it ties in with all three.

Habano Domincan - I love a leathery taste in cigars
Habano Jamastran Hnduras - I also love earthy tastes
I know nothing about blending cigars, but if all three tastes are about equal, that sounds like a dream cigar to me - sweet, earthy, leathery with hints of brown sugar, yeah. -

These all sound good to me. I don't know anything about blending, but based on the descriptions sound like they'll go good with the wrapper. -

To go along with our spicy, robust and dry wrapper I think it would be nice to get some sweet, earthy flavors in there, too. Add on oily and complex with lots of flavor...man this is gonna be delicious!!! -

Dont really know too much about fillers as wrappers are usually advertised most, but these sounded really tasty to me. -

I went with all sweet because I think some sweetness (especially the maple and brown sugar) will complement the wrapper nicely. I wanted to include a good base as well, but am hoping at least one of these three ends up in the mix. -

Considering our wrapper, the Sumatra Ecuadorian:
Sun-grown, spicy and robust, some dry, toasty notes
I really like lots of spiciness and underlying complexity with a load of toasty qualities, but with some cedary and leathery notes coming through along with a nice sweetness to round out the flavors and tie them together very nicely. So to achieve this...
PA Broadleaf:
This leaf will add the sweetness that we need, as well as a smooth spice to compliment our wrapper; the oily qualities in this leaf should give us a nice smooth smoke on the burn, and it's complexities and full flavor will compliment our other fillers.
Habano Dominican
This leaf will add our cedary and leathery notes, although a leaf from a mid- to high priming will most likely be needed to overcome the mild-moderate nature of this leaf.
Cubita Columbia
My last filler pick gives the cigar lots of toasty notes that compliments our wrapper and other two fillers and lightens them up a bit and gives them "fluffiness"

Anyone know of any cigars that currently use the San Andres Mexico or Habano Costa Rica? I'd love to try those tobaccos.

the Gurkha Blue Steel has a costa rican wrapper.
te-amo is a mexican puro. it isnt "san andres mexican" but its what i found. Mexican tobacco is usually a filler tobacco. its hard to find many cigars with a mexican wrapper.
edit: ACID Opulance 3 has that as a wrapper. -
