May you all have a blessed holiday and relax in the company of family and good friends and maybe even partake in a good smoke. Bless you all BOTLs and SOTLs
Anyone know how we went from the resurrection of Christ to a furry bunny running around that sh!ts candy eggs....im not seeing the connection
But happy easter!
Actually the bunny and the eggs are signs of fertility and this holidays foundation are centered around the worship of Astarte, the Phoenician name for Egypt's goddess of fertility, in time spread throughout Europe. "Ostara" became the Old English word for this now Anglo-Saxon goddess. During the 2nd century, early Christians attempting to convert pagan worshippers called their Christian celebration "Ostara" which later became "Easter."

The Kid is correct.. the chronological order is the opposite of the question. And not the only one.. as the winter solstice (December 21/22) was celebrated as the returning of the SUN by the pre-christian pagans. This was changed by the early Christians to the birth of the SON...
Sorry closed that before I was finished..
The Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter Next Sunday (April 15)..
