Hey Rick, how you doin? Why viso and not the ligero?
I can't speak for Rick but I chose viso for the burn quality. Somtimes ligero will take longer to age and rest for a nice even burn. I also am looking for a good balance, not overpowering.

I'll actually go Ecuador Sumatra as well (pushing for a Cameroon binder though!)... Not sure about ligero though...
I'm pushing for Cameroon binder as well. Still say the Sumatra wrapper should be ligero. That way it's still pairs well with the binder but the 2 flavors don't get muddy at all, or indistinguishable...

ligero wrappers arent used often for a reason.
but when its blended right, youll have a great smoke like the armada!

Exactly. With the right combination of fillers, the slow burn rate of the Ligero wrapper will work out just fine. The Armada is just one example and I haven't heard anyone complain about the way they burn, and certainly no complaints about the taste.

for the sake of going against the grain SAN ANDRES MADURO
Yeah us maduro fans won't win this one. Unless we get lucky and they make a maduro version too.
Happened last time! 2 versions!
Not necessarily. Looks like if it is esteli or sumatra ecuador, people want ligero wrapper which is going to ferment extra long and ripen to a maduro so we are on our way to a light maduro.

Hey, see there you go. With the Sumatra wrapper the Maduro fans are pretty well covered too. I feel a rush of Sumatra Ligero wrapper votes coming lol. Thanks for the heads up Alex. This is a blast, just like last time and we all get a chance to learn little bits of information like this.

Yeah, I doubted that it would happen again. I think the last time was a more than generous. But one can always dream right? ;-)

yeah... but you're also talking about a $20 cigar blended by one of the greatest blenders of our time. we are a bunch of amateurs voting on a blend without even tasting the tobacco or re-blending to "fix" anything out of place. not trying to be downer, just bringing people back to reality. as said before, ill still get some no matter what the outcome is. just tossing in my $0.02.

You seem to be forgetting that we have AJ and Alex to help us with some of these decisions. After reading what Alex has had to say so far I think we seem to be going down the right road.
I agree that on our own we would be lost. Good thing we aren't on our own. What do you think of what Alex said regarding the sampler for the three top sizes toro, torp, and Lancero?
He was saying they were going to be offered in a sampler of all three. Then after some discussion we can decide which to continue with into production. Once again C.COM rules.
Given that lanceros burn hotter, and that the ligero leaf burn is usually off without extensive fermentation, are the two not a better combination than one of the larger vitolas?

Sounds good to me!
