Wanna build my own cabinet humidor. Thinking of restoring some old piece of furniture and converting it into a cabinet

    1. Build a 250qt coolidor (or 2 more 120qts... for dif RH levels... like 1 for 65% and 1 for 69%)

    2. Complete 100 bombs in 1 year

    3. Complete 50 trades in 1 year

    4. Bomb DD with something that makes him smile (I see this as nearly unatainable, but I'm gonna make a run at it. lol)

I think I'm going to end up having to do that. I can't really find anything that would really work to convert from a good seal stand point. Kevin you should provide me with tips and tricks since you're a pro and I'm a no lol

that is why i have stayed away from the idea of converting a pre existing piece. as far as me being a pro, i build houses not humidors.
im sure i can figure out the woodworking aspect of the project, its the design phase i strugle with

Yeah with my wedding come up next year I don't think she'd be too happy if I dropped the cash on wood for something this size lol if you want me to design it for you let me know. I can hand jam it and get my brother in law to do up a CAD rendering of it for you

You could always start with an upright entertainment center or something similar to get the general shape...assuming you want a tower cabinet

    My New Year's resolution?

    Better pain management.
    I already have a great wife that lets me smoke (she even hands me a stick from the humi once in a while and tells me it's time to relax); I already have well aged sticks that I enjoy; I've already lost weight; I've already cut down on booze;
But I can't get away from pain. After a hard semester in College with some exams lasting over 6 hours, I'm dealing with a severe increase in chronic back pain to the point where it hurts to breath. So my only resolution for the new year is to dive deaper into pain management so that I can cope with this for the next year and a half of my college courses, and then for the rest of my life. (end of rant)

I'd like to find the time to smoke more. Being I only get around to it maybe 3-4 times a month it's not hard for me to begin aging, so that's a plus. If like to learn more about what I'm smoking and the industry in general. I'd really like to develope my palate. And of course, convince myself to buy a cooler.

Finally, in the short time I've been here everybody has been great. It's been so cool watching the kindness and commroderie amongst everybody here. First of all, I'd like to thank you all for making people as myself feel so welcome. Second, I, like others, would like to meet and get to know more of each of you. Happy New Year FTW.

I want to take time to research a brother/sisters likes before bombing the hell out of them
    YES
i wanna tack that onto mine as well. good call there.
I'll start with this one as well, good call Mike.

Then I'll add that I finally want to upgrade the humi that I've had for about 6 years from the devil's site. Not sure which direction I'd like to go in, but I want some more style and a lot more storage for long term aging. Hopefully it'll look nice enough that the wife won't mind it out in the main house instead of in my closet.

Finally I want to keep on focussing on quality over quantity and unlike several of you here I want to up my budget for next year and stock up on a few boxes that I've had my eye on for a few years.

thanks for posting this thread Kuzi

I want to get back to building my coolidor.

I want to dedicate one humidor to petite coronas for my winter stock.

I want to buy boxes instead of 5 packs.

I want to make a smoking tent (wife won't agree to it though)

I want to get back to reviewing.

I want to get involved on the forums again.

I want to go to a herf or cigar event with some of you guys.

Herf more with the guys near here. They are all great guys.

Turn my shed into a heated smoking lounge for winter and ACed for summer.

So am I right in guessing a smoking tent is nothing more then taking your camping tent and sticking it up in the backyard?
