Nice! I just assume with all these tightening rules that you wouldn't be able to smoke on a cruise. May have to consider going on one

Just make absolutely sure you're allowed to smoke inside - in a lounge or whatever. My wife and I did a cruise to the Bahamas this summer on Norwegian Cruise Lines. I called Norwegian before I booked the cruise and was assured that there was, indeed, a cigar lounge aboard and that I could smoke there any time or I could smoke out on deck as long as I was at least 20 yards from any food venue. So I went ahead and booked. When we got aboard we learned that this wasn't true. The lounge was now totally non-smoking and the only place I could enjoy (?) a cigar was on the very top deck at the stern end of the ship - where the wind blew constantly.

Do your homework thoroughly before you book!! Good luck.

Man I would expect this type of misinfo from a travel agent or one with old info but that is too bad the cruise line itself would be so deceptive.

The ship we took was the Carnival Splendor to Mexico. Smoking cigarettes was allowed on decks 10 and 11 aft starboard, also in the casino, and in two lounges. Cigar smoking was allowed on the same outside decks, but only in one inside lounge called The Cool.

I'd have loved to have been relegated to only one indoor lounge where I could sip sour mash and smoke my stogies. I'd also have loved to get my hands around the throat of the @sshole at Norwegian who said the lounge was a cigar lounge.

Oh, well, life's a beeitch, and then ya die........

I'm going on an alaskan cruise next August for my honeymoon, and we're taking Carnival. They're one of the few cruise lines that lets you smoke on the balcony, so I plan on going out there every morning and evening to smoke a Padron Anniversary. Unfortunately the rules are changing so fast that a lot of the ships are limiting the indoor smoking options. I just hope Carnival doesn't change the balcony rule before next August.

As for Norwegian, how long did you book before the cruise date? It's possible that they had a cigar lounge when you booked, but they changed the rules before the cruise date. A lot of companies changed their rules in June, I think.
