Last week was crazy....
I was looking forward to a few days off work and some R&R, good smokes, etc. but I did not have nearly as much "free" time as I had hoped for ....
I wanted to fire up a Nub USA for the 4th; that didn't happen....
Wanted to meet up with Lee Mcglynn for a cigar and beer last week when he was in town; that didn't happen....
Wanted to throw a brisket on the smoker on a day off, cook it all day low and slow; that didn't happen....
But what can you do. $hit happens .....
However, on the positive side of things I did have a chance to sneak in a couple smokes from two of my favorite BOTLs from the Pacific NW.
I had a Casa Torano (torpedo) from Rudy and paired it with a (few) glasses of Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon ... this was an absolutely fantastic smoke.
I'm (somewhat) picky when it comes to Connecticuts but this was right up my alley. Perfect construction, razor sharp burn, very nice flavors (and my wife even commented on how good it smelled. that's how I know it's good!) Needless to say, I'll be buying more of these in the future.
Thanks Rudy! For some reason this cigar reminded me of the ocean/vacation ... I'm going to have to pick up a few more of these before we head to the east coast this fall.
And I had a chance to smoke another La Aurora Leonino from Jim! This was as good as the first one you sent me ... it's just an overall good, budget cigar. Well constructed, non-offensive flavors, and held an even burn. I smoked this one while walking the dog and it's perfect for a quick walk around the neighborhood. Just long enough to get to the end of the street, up to the park, down the bike path and then back home right as I nubbed it. Awesome.
Still have a few more of these (and some other small smokes) to finish up but I think I'll have to get more of this one. This is great for a quick and (more importantly IMO) cheap "dog-walking"/cold-weather/yard/garage work kind-of-smoke.
Thanks again, Rudy and Jim!! Keep on smokin' brothers!
Would have put this in the smoke tonight last night, but it wasn't up and i like the picture so wanted to put it somewhere. Loved the cigar. It was right up my flavor tree:
Smoked a corona that I got from Rain. No label and I really liked it. Not sure how old it was but I sent him a txt to find out what it was...... turns out is was a Nicaragua 2nd and I really liked it ! Thanks RAIN MAN !!
I have been terrible about getting pics up here, but I had a great stick from Ocho Zacho that he gave me in the January when we met to herf. Finally got around to smoking it and it was a great smoke (Fuente King .

Went great with a cold beer.
glad you liked it, did the Queen B get smoked as well? You guys should
come down to the herf in Lexington on August 3rd. Would be great to see both of you again!
I was in the mood for something different the other morning so I took a look in the "infused" humidor.
The Tabak Red Eye jumped out at me .... and I noticed it had been sitting in there since March 2012!! Can't believe I missed it for so long, I love these little suckers!
It seemed to have lost a little bit of sweetness (compared to ROTT) but it was still a very flavorful & rich cigar --- went great with my morning cup of coffee.
Thanks Eric!

Thanks Rudy. One of many great sticks I'm sure.
And you're a champ smoking that thing in the A.M.!!!!! IDK if I could handle one of those first thing in the day .... it's got some power to it.
