Anyone ever stayed at the MGM Grand in Vegas and saw the Fuente shop? Buddy of mine just got back and he said they have the largest supply of Opus X he has ever seen, $40 per cigar!

dang, talk about giving you the finger. that's insane mark-up. vegas can suck it!
-
Yea no joke!!! That is NUTS! My local shop doesn't have them that often or that many of them even, but I got one for $18...
-
The Fuente shop I believe is in the forum shops at cesears palace. They may have one in MGM now as well though but I know you can also get a cigar at the shop that they roll fresh right there for you and those run about $20-$30 each. Pretty much its Vegas you can get just about anything you want but you are going to pay a pretty large price markup for it.

except lobster.... Anyone go to the cigar bar in disney world?

There was a cigar bar in Disney World??? I was just there a week ago!! WP ran her marathon on Sunday, and was pushing me around the parks in a wheelchair for the next two days

I know there's a shop there...that's where my wife picked me up a GoF, god bless her heart.

large mark up.... yes. People dont rent cars in vegas. its basically a charge for not having to go off the strip
I was there. They did have a mass quantity of OpusX. They were all over priced.urbino:I think kuzi was there not too long ago.
the only thing that I saw there that i didnt already have or had access to was the ForbiddenX (an OpusX with a strange wrapper and shape)
those were about $80 a pop.
I cant part with $80 just for one cigar.
Id get more enjoyment out of a BOX 5 vegas series A than I would out of ONE forbidden X.
it was cool to see the HUmidor though.
.... and the girls working the bar...
even my wife was lookin.
worth a visit. I wouldnt reach for the wallet though. -
buy one if you can find them at a shop for close to retail. I wouldn't pay much more than 15-18 myself... they are good but im not sure about $30 good.gmill880:First Opus I actually saw and held (but did not buy .....yet) -
Coming from one who lives in Vegas, anyone who buys a cigar on the Strip needs to have his head examined. The retailers have to pay amazingly high rents, and they have to get that money somewhere. They take advantage of the drunk players who want a stick and couldn't care less about the price. Those players get caught up in the whole environment and could not care less about the price. The casinos are an assault on the senses, and people lose all sense of money and prices for things. That's how the casinos exist.

You know, from what I hear there are a feww Fuentes that you can only get a Casa Fuente. So, I guess if you really want them you have no choice but to pay that price. Sucks though. There are a couple that I personally want to try. I have never been to Vegas though. I don't do the whole gambling thing but I know there is more out there than that.lvlaw:Coming from one who lives in Vegas, anyone who buys a cigar on the Strip needs to have his head examined. In regards to a couple posts ago.
Yes, Disney world has (2) cigar spots in downtown disney. 1 is a shop owned by Sosa family and the prices are only about 25% inflated. Picked up an Opus XXX for $15. The other one is also owned by Sosa, but it is a cigar bar. To my knowledge, this is the only bar that you can smoke in at Disney. Prices are the same, but the drinks are a little on the pricey side. Don't bother asking for knowledge as the people there are for eye candy purposes only.
The Case Fuente shop is the only place to get Case Fuente sticks from $18-30. Think of it as a suvioner. It is a lot better than crappy T-shirts. The forbidden series are a little overpriced from $80 up to $125 for a BBMF. These are a find them and get them type of stick. Only 500 made annually, so you will get gouged if you want to obtain one.
