Post Formatting

How do you format a message on the forum to include spaces? When I try to create a list or leave a blank line in a posting it word wraps it all together and makes it hard to read. Any suggestions?

I wish this forum would get upgraded so that we didn't have to jump through hoops to format a post. At least have some tools to do it for you.
