Hey guys, does anyone happen to have a link to that old thread about what the best conditions for aging cigars is? I did a search and can't seem to find it. TIA
In general, I'd say it's pretty comparable to wine. Slightly less humidity and slightly lower temp will allow slower aging and usually produces a better result, where warmer and more humid may age quicker but could produce slight bitter notes as well as run the risk of mold and beetles. 65ish on humidity and 65-70 on temp? Just a guess.
Over all, like wine, I'd say stability counts for more than anything else. A stable 65/65 is better than fluctuating from 65 to 75 or 80, depending on the time of year. This is where it gets tough though.
i keep my humidors (including the aging humidor) at 68%. for best aging, keep the temp around 70%. i dont do that because its a bit warmer in the summer and a bit cooler in the winter. im never more than 10 off though.
