So today I join the ranks of the unemployed. Our business has been slow for a few months and we kinda saw it coming. Oh well, it could be worse...

Sorry to hear that. It's getting all to common these days :( I tend to try and not moan too much about my crappy job at the minute. Can always be worse.

I'm with ya. Not laid-off, but between cabinet jobs with one still owing me a sh*t ton of money. I can't collect unemployment, so I'm hocking tools right now... Thank God I got all the bills paid.

Sorry to hear that guys...Jason, I will hopefully brighten up your week, as I'm fixing to walk out of the door to visit the post office. May these fine smokes provide you with much relaxation before you tackle your next career.

I am sorry to hear that and with conditions what they are there is not much to be optimistic about right now.

Sorry to hear that man. I was there in 2008-09 but am back with my old company now. Definitely apply for unemployment - it ain't a lot but it helps and that's what it is there for. If you stay focused on your job search, treat it like a job itself, and stick to a schedule you may even be able to enjoy a little of your downtime. Hang in there for this too shall pass, that is for certain. I know from experience.

Thanks guys! I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing, could be worse. At least my living situation now is relatively inexpensive, so I should be able to get by on unemployment until something else comes along. Thanks again for the sticks Robert, and I'm really looking forward to this saturday Tony! This community, and all the brothers in it, is awesome :^)

I'm knocking on wood that this doesn not happen to myself or others... But you do not get tested if you cannot handle it... You can be strong and you will be...

Good luck and let the forums know if there is anything we can do

Sorry to hear that. But I did get a laugh when I read the partial heading that appears on the discussions page. "Yet another got laid."
