Well, Today I smoked a Grillete, which was given to me by Kuzi as a part of his 10,000th post contest some time ago. Kuzi can fill in the details about the components of this cigar, all I can offer are high praise of the blend. Rolled at the Plasencia factory, construction and burn were excellent. The pre-light aroma was one of sweet hay and reminded me of raisin as well

The flavor profile was very well balanced with so much going on it was hard to keep track. I found notes of oak like wood, leather, a toast like quality that often transitioned to a nutty flavor. I experienced a corn like flavor that reminded me of Fritos. as well as an earthy hint to join the party. There was very little spice which I found pleasant because it gave all these other flavors a chance to shine through. There were layers of flavors on each puff, and an extremely long finish with every draw.

This was a cigar that I would buy by the box, and I don't say that because of the source. What an outstanding cigar. Thank you very much for the chance to smoke this one Matt, it was a fine blend. Did I mention that this was one of Matt's personal blends ?
thanks. I actually blended that one for my wife. did you smoke the "La Gloria Mateo" yet?

the Grillete's blend is as follows:
    Wrapper: Arapiraca Brazilian
    Binder: Jalapa Nicaragan Sungrown Viso
Filler: Habano Jalapa Nicaragaun Viso, Jamastran Habano seco, Azacualpa Honduran Habano Ligero.

i feel this cigar has aged well. i will be sad when they are gone.

i actually like my blend better but thats probably because it was blended for my tastes, not hers.

and it seems that this is my 13,000th post.
    im such a nerd.

The Mateo was going to be burned today, but I did not have the time required to fully enjoy it.. I will keep it with me tomorrow, and see what happens.
