After looking through the first five pages for a similar thread w/o seeing any newer threads, I wanted to start this one to see what you old pros are using... thought it could be a good resource for us newbs.
I've been digging my Alec Bradley 'The Burner' for a couple months now; great for toasting and initial lighting, but keep a Xikar Executive handy for touch-ups.

The two the TSA have. AB triple flame (soft) and a Bugatti B-2002.

For home use the Burner is my fav and what I ise at the house. For on the go my Xikar Room 101 EXII hands down.

Matches if possible.....Xikar single flame **when it works** (need to send in for warranty).....or MOW FTW Lotus single flame.
-
I like the ab burner too. I use it or cedar sometimes. Usually a Xikar crossover ( discontinued). The xi has been a great lighter and lasted years and years.

Are those soft flames?jlmarta:
The Executives I believe are a single torch. The EX and EX II are the soft flame ones. I've got one of the EX models I got from scarlin for Secret Santa and am really liking it a lot. I also have a Crossover which is the same body as the EX but with the Van Halen style design on it. I recently got an XTX triple flame table lighter as well. I use the XTX for bigger ring gauges and the EX for smaller ones and then do touch ups with the Crossover. -
I love my AB burner.

I've got about seven lighters, most of them coming through cigar purchase-related deals. Most of them have some kind of flaws (don't light consistently, run out of fuel quickly, don't have visible fuel-level chambers, etc.) but the one that go back to over and over is one I got with some kind of c.om box deal, a Moretti Churchilll four flamer. It's never failed to light, even in the coldest and windiest weather, its's beautiful looking, and it has a large fuel changer window.

I'm very particular about my personal things - I prefer to buy one good thing and stick with it, instead of a bunch of cheap ones. My go-to in California (it stays in California) is my Xikar Flintfire II:
My go-to at home in Spain is a bit lighter, but I'm glad I took the risk on the lacquer (I'd sworn against it before). Pierre Cardin soft-flame. -
After almost 4 years my trusty Ronson Jetlite is still the best lighter I've ever had. Never an issue, works every time. Best 5$ I've ever spent.
-
Love the burner for a table top. I always take my Bugatti B-1 with me when I smoke. Great for touch ups and two built in punches.
-
Ronson, $4, Walmart. Go!
-
bic for me
-
If I had the money I would do a S.T. DuPont everytime, don't know why just love how they feel in the hand and during use but good lord are they pricey.
-
Xikar EX for lighting and a Black Ops single flame torch for touch ups.

Anyone have any experience with the Xikar Cirro High Altitude lighter? Or possibly other 'high altitude' lighters? I am moving from a place that is 600 ft. elevation to a place that is around 6,500 ft..
Looking for something when matches won't do. -
Ordered a Xikar EX on Brad's recommendation and also several reviews I have seen about it having no problem functioning in mountain climbing situations.
Colorado Springs is close to 7,000 ft. Elevation in some places, and pretty windy, so I wanted something that doesn't blow out as easily as a bic.
I should get it before I roll out west. I'll report my findings in Cleveland and Colorado. Hopefully it's as rock solid as it looks.
Decided against the Cirro because of the amount of fuel it pushes out being a "turbo flame". The EX just seems like a baller soft flame. We'll see! -
I just Love the Xikar EX. The flaming coming out from it is beautiful.
