stuck in a rut or what?

Everyone, Registered Users Posts: 94
Well, the humi's pretty full, but I just noticed that it's pretty much full of maddies and oscuros. LGC R's and N's, El Ray del Mundo, Perdomo Noir, Cohiba black, etc. Even a box of CAO brazilia, but even that's a maddy even though it's a brazillian wrapper. So either I know what I like, or I'm stuck in a rut. Not that I won't smoke everything in there, I like to smoke cigars, not collect 'em, but I'm looking to see what else is out there that I'm missing out on. Any suggestions?

Every once in a while, I go on a maduro kick.
It seems to go in cycles.
I have a ton of maduro I keep for those times.
As for what are you missing out on? Cameroon (most saw this coming from me), Sun grown, Criollo and Sumatra wrappers are very good, in my opinion.
Look into those and see if there are any you like.

But be aware that over time, your tastes may change pretty drastically. Then again, may not.
I went through several changes in what I like, but I always return to the cameroon cigars.
Those are my baseline cigars. Some folks, the maduros are their baseline.

The great thing about cigars is there are always different ones to try.

Just had an LFD Cameroon and it was gooood. I tend to like Ecuadorian habano wrappers, but you could try Sumatra wrappers as well. The Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 with the Sumatra wrapper is really good.

been smokin maddies for more than ten years. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep smokin em as my go to. But that's no reason to pass up other stuff when I got a wild hair...

Try a Partagas Spanish Rosado or something sun grown like My Father Flor De Las Antilles if you're trying to stay away from lightweights but still want that richness.

    so who's got a favorite sun-grown?
I like the Rocky Patel Sun-grown. I picked up a couple at the B&M and smoked them during a round of golf.

Well, there is a box of RP private cellar on the shelf, and they're pretty good, so I might just pick a couple sun growns up next time I'm down at Pike Place

OK, the RP sun grown goes into rotation. I wouldn't call it an everyday stogie, but I can definitely see myself looking into the ole' humidor and pulling one out once in a while. While I haven't really gotten into the mortar round Opatience dropped on my mailbox, I did manage to get enough porch time in to thoroughly enjoy the Torano Master he included. Looks like I'll be dropping in to the B&M at Pike Place to pick up a handful of Habanos wrapped samples too. So many cigars, so little time.
