So a few weeks ago I found a few beetles in a cooler and got that under control. Then tonight I go and check on my humidor with my higher quality cigars for special occasions and see that dreaded black dust. Checked all of them and had some of that dust come out of a couple viaje, an original 5 Vegas Miami, a god of fire, a couple isom, and a few others. So into the freezer with everything. Are the ones I for sure found dust in ruined or would it still be ok to smoke them? I hate to throw out so much of my good stash.

They might pop and crackle a little. Just ignore it. It's nothing.

I think that one of our tobacco specialists said to wipe them off and light up.

I wiped out the inside off the humidor with some distiller water. Do I need to do anything else to it?

That sucks. What kind of temps did you have? I used to move my humidors with the seasons but now I just leave them in the cool basement year round. 1 time I hit 80's may 90's before we ran the AC and lost a few sticks. Checking them all and freezing them all sucked. Never want to experience that again.

Temps haven't been higher than 74 at times and RH in this humi I'm luck to get 60, usually it's lower around 55-58 unless I put a little cup of distiller water in it

It isn't the RH you need to worry about. At temps above 71degrees beetles can move around looking for mates. Below that they're pretty much dormant....

Oh, and they don't smoke too badly. I've had occasion to pick them out of the head of a stick as they emerged. Just picked 'em out and kept smoking...
