My local b&m, The Leaf, asked me to build th a new walk-in humidor at their new location. I thought I'd post some pics as it progresses along.
Here's a shot of the exterior of the walk-in as I wrap it in Spanish cedar:
Here it is at the end of the day:

A question. As some one who has a plan to start his own B+M in the not to distant future. How much did all the raw cost? Also what apart for the spanish cedar and humifaction did you have to work out?0

You're looking at $6,000 in materials alone. As t what to work out It's a matter of sealing it with a vapor barrier.rossdavey2:A question. That's awesome. Where's the walk in going to be? Where you're standing when you took the picture? or through the door?
Edit: Nevermind, I think I answered my own question after looking at your post closer.0 -

The walk-in is through the window in the picture. It's in a bit of disarray, and waiting on an electrical inspection.Russ55:That's awesome. Where's the walk in going to be? Where you're standing when you took the picture? or through the door?0 -
Is that in the Abilene area? I might be in that area this fall and would love to see your handiwork when it's done.0

Got started on sealing off the room where the walk-in will be.

So far It's turning out pretty well, tomorrow we'll begin covering the sheetrock with lumber.0 -

Got a bit done today, including some long ash...

Here you can see where I've wrapped the walls with some meranti so I can nail the cedar planks to it:

Question: Would you rather be paid for the job OR receive x amount of cigars per month for life !?!?!?0 -
This is looking great, Cabi! I'm curious to see how you seal off the drop ceiling. I really like 'The Leaf' sign set against the angled boards. Looks cool.0

I built one in my basement last year. My materials were a little under 3k however the walk in is much smaller than what you would see in a store. I started with a concrete room about 6x8. I framed it out, added electricial, put i a vapor barrier, added green board, then spanish cedar sheets, then spanish cedar shelving....turned out pretty good. I will post picture if i can figure out how...0
