Spanish cedar's not supposed to be that color

I was prepping a new coolerdore by putting a bowl of distilled water into the cooler with some empty boxes I picked up at a local B&M to season. I had it sitting in a corner in my office and kind of forgot about for two weeks. I opened it today and all the spanish cedar is covered with a wide arrange of colorful mold. Lesson learned.

I did that with a coffee travel mug during semester break. When I got back and opened my cup, I found these green, throbbing things. I threw it out at that point. Even if I could clean it out, the thought still remained.
