kuzi16:those are freakin sweet lookin. three blades. all metal. trusted name. lifetime guarantee... if the price is right, i dont see how it can be wrong. i got in the mail today an Xi2. so...im a bit excited about that. bloodstone. for those who wanted to know.
rad1964:I have been using my VERY sharp kitchen knives for the last few months, but as some of you will assume, yes, I had some small issues, although nothing that couldn't be smoked. I am now understanding the significance of the 'clean' cut.[spits out the cap pieces] So I did some late night shopping and found this on ebay and bought it. Anything has got to be better then my knives lol.Anyone have any experience using this?I think it looked cool and sharp my 2 criteria

Fourtotheflush: Can you PM me
Fourtotheflush:Check your bag! Ha! Im with you about spending the $ on a cutter. Every time I come around I say hmm I could buy X cigars with that money.
laker1963:I grabbed a Xikar II recently on a suggestion from Jeff. I couldn't be happier with it. Very sharp, great ergonomic design and a lifetime gaurantee. I LIKE IT !

So I guess I have the XikarI?Mine is the black aluminium bodied one. It is a GREAT cutter. I guess I just assumed they got better as new generations came out, so therefore thought I had the second gen. not the first.

I have them as well, and these are the fiberglass handled ones. I'm pretty sure the Xi and Xi3 are the all metal ones.
kuzi16:i have the Xi2 and it is not plastic at all. its fiberglass. it feels much stronger than plastic. they may be the least expensive of the three, but they are not "cheap" the Xi3 is the wood. the Xi1 is metal. colored or otherwise.

rad1964:My quickie review for the Cuban Crafters Scissors. Very nice to use, since I am a newb when it comes to scissors, cutters, punches etc.. please take this review with a grain of salt I liked them, they are impressive to look at. My first cut was on a 5 Vegas Miami, and it seemed to leave a slight bump in the center of the cigar. I thought to myself, I must not have snipped fast enough. My next one was on a Veredero. I tried to cut faster. I was outside at night and believe there was still a small center tobacco pinch that the scissors left.Brings me to the night before last. I finally broke out the Opus X Perfexcion. Strong! The scissors worked beautifully. Maybe someone else can report about the pinching effect. Robert

ironhorse:Yes, but won't any dull cutter smash the cigar? Comparing a sharp single to a sharp double.....whats the difference/preferrence?
kuzi16:see if you can use a v-cut first. some people actually dont like this type of cut at all. otherwise i go with a punch whenever i can.
