How much of a drop is normal?
So I've just set up my new humi. My hygrometer is calibrated. And I've added my cigars. The humidity dropped, as expected, but it is now sitting at 64%. Is this normal? If so, how long will it be before it starts to go back up? It was at 72% when I put the sticks in. Also, I have 75% Boveda packs in currently as those were…

Humidor question to all BOTLs living in a dry climate
Hi Guys I live in Northern California, so not super dry, but certainly not a humid area. So this question goes out to those living in dry areas. . . . . How often do you reseason your humidors? I have 2 humidors, and both use 70% beads. My small one (~40 sticks) is locked in between 68% and 70% at all times. I love it. My…

hot fingers
One of the first things I learned here was to enjoy a slower, cooler smoking pace. Before joining cigar.com forum, I was smoking too hard. The smoke would turn stanky and bite me half way through. Now, I regularly get an hour and a half out of a robusto, hit the sweet spot when the ash first gets long, and it stays sweet…

Emergency humidor preparation?
So, after a massive trade I made this past week, I literally do not have room for any more cigars, and with the black spot, west vs east, and who knows what else coming, I don't know where I am going to put cigars. I don't really have the income to spend on setting up a new coolidor right now, so what is an easy, fast, and…

crap cigar and Nicks Sticks
Oh my God these guys crack me up at crap cigars. You guys seen that site? They rate cheap ass cigars with their own rating system, from dog turd to diamond in the rough. Funny bunch. I stumbled onto them looking for a review of Nick's Sticks. I picked up a pair of Nick's Sticks the other day just because I liked the name.…

Ceder Sleeves, Tubes, and Coffin Warning.....
Okay so this might be for certain wrappers or hell maybe it doesn't matter... lol. I wanted to let you all know what my personal experience has been, especially tonight. After reading some posts about ceder sleeves and coffins on another site, I decided I would take the time and go through all my coffins (not many) and all…

Bottled water vs Distilled
Anyone had any major issues using bottled water to season the humi? Thats all I have available and just wondered if there would be any reprecussions from it.

Beetle time line
You hear about others finding beetles in their humidors but from cigars that are usually pretty new to them. I have a humidor where my newest sticks are from January. While going through it I found a little friend in my humicare jar. He happened to still be alive, and I went through all of my sticks. After searching for…

new humi question
My new 50 count hit the 75% mark, so I added my 75% boveda packs and sticks earlier this morning. The humidity dropped a bit, as expected. It didn't leave the safe range, though. Or it hasn't yet I should say. Since I am going out of town, leaving tomorrow morning, and there isn't going to be anyone around to check on them…

Nitpicky Definition
Does the term "complex" have to do with the number of flavors detected with each draw or the flavor transitions during the cigar? It's a silly question, but one I've been thinking about and never actually seen defined in reviews.
